BNI Western PA: Secretary / Treasurer
Considering the Secretary / Treasurer role is a great opportunity to grow as a leader, strengthen your visibility within the chapter, and make a meaningful impact on the chapter's success, as well as your own. The responsibilities of the Secretary / Treasurer are listed below in three different categories: Good, Better, and Best.
The responsibilities listed as Good are considered to be the minimum requirements for fulfilling the role of Secretary/Treasurer. For those Secretary/Treasurers wanting to help grow their leadership skills and network with other Secretary/Treasurers, those responsibilities are highlighted in the Better section. Finally, for those Secretary/Treasurers wanting to strive for their chapter's greatest potential, those opportunities are listed in the Best section.
Good (Minimum Requirements)
The minimum requirements for serving as a BNI Western PA Chapter Secretary / Treasurer are:
- Announcing which members are due for renewal in the next 60 days and chapter dues according to the BNI Agenda
- Balancing chapter checkbook, depositing dues, and paying chapter bills
- Preparing schedule and announcing upcoming speakers, as well as collecting bios from each member
- Overseeing the Visitor Host team to ensure minimum best practices are followed
- Coordinating with the Growth Coordinator and Membership Committee regarding past visitors
- Participating in the monthly call with your Senior Director Consultant and other officers
Better
To achieve the Better Level of BNI Western PA Secretary / Treasurer:
- Attending the Monthly Regional Networking and Support Zoom Call and training opportunities as offered by BNI Western PA
- Reviewing visitor conversion statistics on a monthly basis with the other officers and Senior Director Consultant
- Reviewing BNI reports and records for accuracy, e.g. PALMS report, Visitor stats, etc
Best
- Attending Chapter Success Meetings (reporting on Membership Dues Report/Chapter bank account)
- Creating a budget for the chapter in cooperation with the Events Coordinator
