BNI Western PA: President
Considering the President role is a great opportunity to grow as a leader, strengthen your visibility within the chapter, and make a meaningful impact on the chapter's success, as well as your own. The responsibilities of the President are listed below in three different categories: Good, Better, and Best.
The responsibilities listed as Good are considered to be the minimum requirements for fulfilling the role as President. For those Presidents wanting to help grow their leadership skills and network with other Presidents, those responsibilities are highlighted in the Better section. Finally, for those Presidents wanting to strive for their chapter's greatest potential, those opportunities are listed in the Best section.
Good (Minimum Requirements)
The minimum requirements for serving as a BNI Western PA Chapter President are:
- Completing the BNI Western PA training as outlined in the Commitment Form
- Confirming that all members serving in a Leadership Role are properly trained
- Conducting Weekly Meeting in accordance with the BNI or BNI+ approved agenda
- Participating in a monthly call with the Senior Director Consultant assigned to your chapter
- Ensuring proper room setup (including Visitor Host table and needed supplies)
- Leading by example in all aspects of being a great BNI member e.g. arriving on-time, being in the green for the Power of One report, etc.
Better
To achieve the Better Level of BNI Western PA Chapter President:
- Attending the Monthly Regional Networking and Support Zoom Call and training opportunities as offered by BNI Western PA
- Developing a list of goals for the chapter regarding growth, retention, TYFCB, etc
- Helping the regional team coach Leadership Team members needing additional support
- Reviewing monthly reports and records
- Encouraging a strong mentoring program
Best
To achieve the highest level of success as a BNI Western PA Chapter President:
- Working with the Vice-President to host Monthly Chapter Success Meetings
- Developing a 12-month Growth Strategy with assistance of the Growth Coordinator
- Communicating regularly with the regional team to ensure all goals are being met and the Leadership Team has everything needed for success
- Sending a weekly follow-up and reminder email to all members (recap meeting, announce upcoming speakers, Meeting Stimulants, events and reminders using BNI+ newsletter)
